What do my new Silkie chicks need?

Heat, food and water.

Silkie chicks need food, water, heat and lots of love in order to thrive. Some may say that the love is optional, but we believe different. However, as much as we love our babies, we must always make sure that their nutritional requirements are met. Silkie chicks should eat Starter feed from day one to the age of 6 weeks after which they move on to Grower Feed which they will eat until week 20 of their little lives. They should always have fresh water available. Chicks require an air temperature of 95 degrees during the first week, 90 degrees the second week, and so on – going down by around five degrees per week until they’re ready to transition to the coop.

What People

Say About Us

Sweet family, let me tour the farm and gave me all the information I needed to feel totally confidant in caring for my new mini pig! Thanks friends!

Purchased 5 Silkie chicks, they met me in town so I didn’t have to travel so far which was really sweet. The chicks look healthy and are super cute! I can’t wait to watch them grow.

Purchased my first little Juliana piglet and then figured she needed a friend and came back to get her sister. These are the sweetest and funniest little pigs. Both piglets were litter box trained and knew their names by the time they were ready to come home with me. I can tell that they spend a lot of quality time with their animals and I highly recommend them.
